This is an example of a skin mount in the world of fish taxidermy. Yelloweye rockfish make beautiful skin fish mounts due to the durable nature of their skin and their wonderful scales. The brilliant color of this species is an added bonus.
Yelloweye rockfish live in the Pacific Ocean and range from Alaska's Aleutian Islands to northern Baja California. They are common from central California northward to the Gulf of Alaska. These fish can live to be 115+ years old!
